HI Jason
Apologies if I already asked this via email, but I'm only seeing two air flow guages and the battery guage working.
I thought I would at least show rpm or temp - since it the software tells me the temp when I check the timing.
Is there something I missed in the setup?
Cheers

Hi Fred,
You might have some gauges set that the ECU doesn't recognise. If you go into Data Display Settings and change a few gauges around you should see a change. Let us know of the progress.

| Thanks Jason - I feel like I am missing something here, I can't seem to find any Data display Settings area or link or menu item. |

Hey Jason sorry to double post but I notice often I go to Data Display to check the guages, then when I go back to main menu it disconnects and I have to connect again.
Is this normal?
Cheers

Apologies I found out where the setting was. Funny though I had to just save the settings as they were, then the gauges came up.
It still disconnects when I go back to the main menu though. |

I'm not sure why it disconnects. I will pass this feedback onto Tom and see if he know anything about it.

ok, I have feedback from Tom.
This is an unusual fault that neither of us have heard of before. He said that when you change screens in NDSII the com port is reset. But since the OBDII protocol only needs refreshing every 5 seconds this isn't a problem. As it stands the software refreshes the connection every second, so there is plenty of headroom to change screens.
It could be that your computer is really slow and takes a while to change screens.
He has asked that you take a debug log by pressing 'save debug data' in the communications window. This will save a file to the directory where NDSII is installed called "NDSIIdebug.log".
Send this through to me if you can.
Regards,
Jason |

Thanks Jason
Laptop is pretty well specced so don't think speed is an issue. If I have time tonight I'll hook it in to the car and save the log.
Cheers

Hi Fred,
Are you getting disconnected only when you are in the Data Display Settings window and then go back to the main window? Or is it happening with every function?
Thanks,
Tom |

Hi Tom
Only when going from Data Display back to main menu.
I've installed the software on my netbook now and the same thing is happening.
Will get the debug file to you,
Cheers

Ok guys I'm feeling pretty stupid right now - I can't find anywhere I can save a debug dump.
I've been into Settings/Communication and there's no "save debug data" button anywhere.
Also, and I can't find the answer to this anywhere else in the forum, can you tell me if there is a gauge that indicates how much (if any) advance/retard is going on with the variable valve timing? I'm getting a P0011 error and want to see if the IVTC is working or not.
Lastly I'm having the same issue with the netbook install as I had on the laptop install. Only one of the airflow gauges and the battery gauge work. On my laptop I just went into the gauge settings and saved, and some others (rpm, temp) came up.
On the netbook, I've tried this but has made no change - I am only seeing the battery gauge and the air flow gauge working.
Cheers

ok, you probably need to change the gauges manually in the display settings page. Write down the settings on your other computer then set the netbook the same.
I couldn't find the debug option either, but I do remember it being there. Maybe it was in another version. We will try and get this to you.

The "Save debug data" option is available in version 1.3 Comms window. See below.
